Mega Millions Odds and Prizes
For each Mega Millions draw, there are nine prize levels you can win and the amounts depend on how many numbers you match. The lowest prize is $5 and you can win it by matching the Mega Ball only. The highest one is the jackpot which starts at $50 million and rolls over until one or more participants match all the winning numbers.
The grand prize is shared equally among the ticket holders if there are multiple tickets that match all the numbers. The prize amounts for the other tiers are fixed, meaning they offer a guaranteed payout regardless of how many winners there are.

Claiming Prizes
If you win a Mega Millions prize, you must make sure that you claim your prize within 180 days from the draw date. Then, depending on the prize amount, you can decide how you want to claim your winnings as there is more than one way. Go to the How to Claim page to find out more about the different procedures, whether that is claiming direct from a retailer, mailing in your ticket or going to a local claim center.
