How to Play Texas Cash 5

The Cash 5 lottery game can be played either by visiting a Texas Lottery retailer or by ordering tickets online, from the comfort of your home. If you prefer online play, then you should check out our Tickets page.

In order to enter Cash 5, you must select five numbers between 1 and 35. When you can’t decide which numbers to pick, you can mark the “QP” box and the lottery terminal will generate five random numbers which you can enter in the next draw. You can also ask your lottery retailer for a “Quick Pick” ticket. If you choose to enter online, you may use the Cash 5 number generator: a smart, completely unbiased tool which is able to generate a random set of numbers in just a few seconds.

Cash 5 ticket costs $1 per play. Drawings take place six evenings a week, from Monday to Saturday at 10:12 PM CT. Ticket sales cut off at 10:02 PM.

Multi-Draw Option

Want to enter more than one draw? The Multi-Draw option allows you to enter the same set of numbers in multiple draws so that you don’t miss out. Mark the “Multi-Draw” box to play up to 12 consecutive drawings.

Prizes Payments

Cash 5 prizes, including the jackpot, are paid in a single payment. Except for the jackpot, all prizes have fixed amounts. The top prize is pari-mutuel and there’s a liability cap of $75,000. This means that, if there are more than three winners (3 winners x $25,000 top prize), that amount will be divided equally by the number of top prize winners. Go to the Odds and Prizes page for more information.
